Khladotekhnika Strengthens Medical Infrastructure in Southern Ukraine: Completion of UNICEF Project

As part of a global initiative by UNICEF and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, supported by the World Bank, a project to re-equip primary healthcare centers and vaccination points with modern cold chain equipment has been successfully completed. Our company, Khladotekhnika LLC, was engaged to implement this critical mission in the southern region of Ukraine.

The scope of work covered dozens of medical facilities across the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. The primary objective was to establish a reliable infrastructure for vaccine storage (including COVID-19 vaccines and routine immunization supplies) in accordance with the strictest international WHO standards.

Technical Features and Implementation: The project involved a comprehensive approach: from inventory and site readiness assessment to the direct installation of equipment. At the core of the system are high-efficiency Ice-Lined Refrigerators (ILRs), freezers for coolant packs, and combined units.

A key aspect of reliability was the implementation of continuous monitoring systems:

  • Installation of 30-day electronic temperature loggers.
  • Integration of equipment into a unified digital mapping system and an online monitoring service.
  • Ensuring the equipment’s capability to maintain critical temperature ranges even during prolonged power outages.

Results and Social Impact: In total, the nationwide program facilitated the deployment of over 5,100 units of specialized equipment. Our specialists provided professional installation and conducted technical training for medical personnel on the operation of the new systems.

Despite the challenging security situation and logistical hurdles in front-line regions, Khladotekhnika LLC experts completed all stages of the work within tight deadlines. Close cooperation with UNICEF representatives and local health departments has ensured that residents of Southern Ukraine have access to safe and high-quality vaccination services.
